Lore
The Drakefire Amulet was an item previously used in the opening of Onyxia's Lair. Awarded to players by Haleh, the amulet was created with help from 
General Drakkisath (and, in fact, requires some of his blood to work) and allowed those who wielded it to get past the lair's wards. It was removed, along with the entire questline required to unlock the raid, in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
